How to automate Article creation

This guide shows you how to set up Automations that will generate and publish content to your WordPress site automatically. Just set it up once and watch your site stay fresh with new content.

Prerequisites

  • Aksu user
  • You have created some Articles already
    • Before you start automating the whole process, it’s recommended to create some Articles manually first, just so you understand how Aksu works, and how different instructions affect the resulting Articles
    • Learn more: How to create an Article

Step 1: Log in to Aksu

Log in to the application at https://app.aksu.ai.

Navigate to the Automations page

Click on the “Automations” link in the main navigation.

Step 2: Create an Automation

On the Automations page, click on the “Create New” button.

Automation name and Site description

First, you should give the Automation a distinguishable name. Examples:

  • “[DAILY] [mysite.com] Daily blog posts v1”
  • “[MON,WED,FRI] [mysite.com] 3 landing pages a week v1”

Then, you should write a concise site description. This is an important field, because it will guide Aksu’s AI in the SEO keyword planning. Focus on answering (at least) these questions:

  • What is the niche of the site? E.g. “Fitness”, “Personal finances”, “Online gaming”
  • Who are the typical readers? E.g. “Fitness enthusiasts”, “People looking to save money”, “Gamers”, “People interested in cryptocurrencies”
  • Is the site targeting some specific country or other geographical area?
  • What trends is the site trying to capitalize on? E.g. “Rise of online shopping”, “Increasing popularity of veganism”, “Growing interest in cryptocurrencies”, “Increasing demand for remote work”
  • Are there some specific things that need to be taken into account when planning content for the site? E.g. “This site contains YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) content”, “This site is focused on a specific age group, so we need to make sure that all content is relevant to that age group”
  • Is the site targeting some specific country or other geographical area? E.g. “Worldwide”, “United States”, “Texas”, “Houston area”, “Downtown Houston”

So a site description could look something like this:

“Main niche is personal finance. Typical readers are people looking to save money. The site is targeting the United States. The site is trying to capitalize on the increasing popularity of cryptocurrencies. The site contains YMYL content, so all content needs to be accurate and relevant. The site is focused on the 25-45 age group in the United States.”

Keyword targeting mode

The keyword targeting mode field defines what kind of keywords Aksu will plan content for.

If you choose “Target broad keywords”, Aksu will create content for high-competition, top-level keywords like “best laptops” or “bitcoin price”.

If you choose “Target long-tail keywords”, Aksu will create content for lower-competition, long-tail keywords like “best laptops for gaming with 16GB RAM under $1000 in 2024” or “gym plan for over 50 year old beginner 3 days a week”.

“Create or update” & WordPress credentials

The Create or update field dictates, will the automation create new pages on your WordPress site or will it update existing pages.

  • If you select “Create new content”, the automation will scan the site and take the current site structure into account when planning new content (i.e. it will not create content for topics that are already covered by existing content)
  • If you select “Update existing content”, the automation will scan the site and start updating the existing pages, prioritizing older pages first.

The WordPress credentials field dictates which set of credentials will be used to scan the site and publish the changes to the site.

Category, status and language

Category and language will be pasted directly to the Articles that the automation creates.

The status field controls whether the automation is active or not. If the automation is inactive, it will not create any Articles.

Active days and run at time

The active days and run at time fields dictate when the automation will run. Note that the time is in UTC/GMT+0.

Step 3: Sit back & monitor the Automation

That’s it! Your Automation is now up and running. It will start creating new Articles automatically. The new Articles will be visible on the All articles page.

You can also click on “Show execution log” to view what the Automation has been doing recently.

  • There is no extra cost for the Automation related features – you will only be billed for the Article creation.
  • You can create as many Automations as you want, even multiple Automations for 1 WordPress site.
